How Many Biscuits Can You Eat?

We spent a morning at the Grand Trunk Saloon in downtown Kitchener (and one other secret location) last weekend and made a few videos! These are the first we've been able to make since our lineup changed and we became a quintet, and we're so happy with how they came out! A huge thanks goes out to Manish, Jessica, Kai, and Abhi for all their help to make it happen. We really couldn't have done it without them.

We've played the first Wednesday of every month at the Grand Trunk Saloon for a long time now, so it was the obvious choice to record this new set of videos. It's also no coincidence that the Grand Trunk has delicious biscuits. Our first video is of an old time song we've been inserting into the middle of the Zombie Love Song for a long time. This one is called How Many Biscuits Can You Eat? Take a look and let us know what you think!

Long Winter Blues

Howdy friend!

We wrote this song called Long Winter Blues a couple of years ago, and have been pulling it out during the darkest winter months ever since. It's sort of a John Prine flavoured look at some of the mundane tortures of long Canadian winters. This year we decided to record a studio version and release it as a single, accompanied by a video!

We take a walk through some of the dreariest parts of winter in this song, we hope you like it.

Long Winter Blues is available for download from our website here for just a dollar

Winterfolk XIV

We had an amazing time playing Winterfolk this year! Many thanks to Bryan and Bev and everyone for having us. It was especially good to see old pals Whiskey Epiphany and to folk out at the Americana Pie workshop with Mr. Rick, HOTCHA!, and Mean Mary. Looking forward to returning in future years!

Hello!

Well hello! Just a few updates to let you know what's coming up!

First of all, we'll be at Abe Erb this Friday, October 23! As always there's no door charge, so come on down, brave the cool autumn air and have a pint with us. We'll be there from 8-11pm keepin' it folky.

Second, new video! We have a bunch more on the way, but the first one we've got for you right now is a little trio of tunes we affectionately call The Trainwreck. We took 3 songs about trains: 500 Miles, Freight Train and our own original song True to Her Track and mashed them together to make one long train-tribute! We posted it over on YouTube just today! Check it out above!

And finally the foggy future: Keep an eye out for more videos soon, we'll post all over the social medias and whatnot I promise. We're also writing the next full length, full-band album! We're all very excited for this, but patience is key here my friends. We'll keep you updated on how things are moving along.

So for now, thanks for stopping by, enjoy the video, and we hope to see you again soon!

As always, if you'd like to see us in your town, in your venue, or at your wedding or something, drop us a message in the contact section and we'd love to work something out!

See you soon,
Dave

So much stuff coming up!

Hey there friends, it's been a while since we talked, but there's so much stuff coming up, I think it's time to break the silence! We're pretty excited about the next couple of months, we've got all kinds of stuff to keep away the winter blues.

First up, this Valentine's weekend we'll be playing at Winterfolk a couple of times. Friday night we're on at 10 PM at the Black Swan Tavern, Saturday we're playing a workshop with a bunch of other great folk acts including the one and only HOTCHA! You can check out the full lineup and all the details at www.winterfolk.com.

February is set to be a busy month; on February 27 we'll be playing a Mill Race Festival Showcase at Cafe 13 in Cambridge.   On the next night, we're back at Abe Erb, because we have a blast every time we're there, so come out and have some great beer and also great food, and celebrate Saturday right.

There's still more coming up in March and April, check out our Tour page to find out the where and when of our constantly updating upcoming shows.

While we're at it, you can now contact us over at our shiny new Book Us page to bring the whole band (or duo) to your own events.

If you haven't seen us before, we just posted a new video of us playing John Henry: http://youtu.be/78jQf-4R6YQ See you soon, Dave
